Solar + battery + smart inverter

Hybrid solar. Zero energy charges, and the lights stay on.

A hybrid system is rooftop solar with a LiFePO₄ battery and a hybrid inverter. It cuts your energy charges to zero*, stores daytime surplus for the evening, and keeps your essential loads running when KSEB goes off.

  • Backup through outages
  • Night-time solar use
  • LiFePO₄ battery
  • Upgradeable for EV

*Energy charges reduced to zero where rooftop space allows a system sized to full consumption; KSEB fixed charges continue to apply.

☀️Solar🔋Battery🏠Home⚡KSEB grid

Solar powers your home first, charges the battery, and exports any surplus to KSEB under net metering.

Who it's for

Built around how you use power

Homes with frequent power cuts

Monsoon outages and fluctuations: lights, fans, fridge and router stay on.

Evening-heavy households

Use your own solar after sunset instead of exporting it and drawing it back.

Future EV owners

A hybrid base makes overnight EV charging from solar practical later.

How it works

How the system behaves through the day

1

Daytime

Solar covers your load first. The surplus charges the battery, and only then is exported to KSEB.

2

Evening and night

The battery supplies your home. The grid fills any gap, and export credits offset those units.

3

Outage

The hybrid inverter disconnects from the grid and keeps your essential-load circuit running from battery and solar.

Questions

Hybrid solar systems: common questions

How long will the battery run my home?

It depends on what you run. A 10 kWh battery at 90% depth of discharge gives about 9 kWh of usable energy: roughly 22 hours of lights, fans, fridge and router at 0.4 kW. Try the battery duration tool on the BESS page with your own appliances.

Does the PM Surya Ghar subsidy apply to the battery?

No. The central subsidy applies to the grid-connected solar portion of a residential system. Battery incentives are shown only once verified.

Do I need a hybrid system, or is grid-tied enough?

Grid-tied solar with net metering already takes energy charges to zero and pays back fastest. Choose hybrid if outages matter, if you want to use your own solar at night, or if you plan to charge an EV overnight.

Can I add a battery to my existing solar system?

Often yes, depending on your inverter. A site check tells us whether to add a battery inverter or replace the existing one.
