How Scout works

Four steps from your bill to a result you can act on, in a couple of minutes.

  1. 1

    Share your bill

Upload a photo or PDF of your KSEB bill, or fetch it with your consumer number. Add the solar capacity you have in mind, and your KSEB section and transformer (DTR).

  2. 2

    Scout assesses

System size, transformer headroom, connected load and approval likelihood are checked together.

  3. 3

    See your result

A clear verdict, the reasons behind it and a score out of 100, on a page you can share or print.

  4. 4

    Act on it

Book a consultation if you're feasible. If not, see smaller, hybrid or reminder options.

What goes into the score

The feasibility score out of 100 combines five factors, so you can see which ones are helping or holding you back.

Feasibility
Can a system of this size be connected at your location?
30 pts
Transformer headroom
Is there spare capacity to accept your export?
25 pts
Connected load
Is your sanctioned load enough for the system?
20 pts
KSEB approval likelihood
How likely is a smooth approval?
15 pts
No upgrade needed
Do you avoid a load or network upgrade?
10 pts

What your result means

Solar-ready

Feasible with no upgrade. Book a consultation and we move to design.

Feasible with an upgrade

Usually a small load enhancement. We show the likely cost band up front.

Needs another route

Try a smaller system, a hybrid system, or ask for a reminder.

Questions

Scout: common questions

Is Scout free?

Yes. The check is free and instant, with no obligation.

How accurate is it?

Scout gives an engineering estimate from your location and, if you share them, your connection details. It does not replace KSEB's own feasibility approval or our site survey, but it flags the common deal-breakers early.

Why does Scout need my bill?

Your KSEB bill shows your usage, your section and your transformer (DTR), so Scout checks your real connection instead of assuming typical values. You can upload a photo or the PDF from the KSEB consumer portal, fetch it with your consumer number, or choose your section and DTR yourself if you don't have it.

What if KSEB's website is down?

Uploading your bill does not depend on it. A phone photo of the paper or POS bill works, as does the PDF downloaded from the consumer portal.

What if my area isn't feasible?

You still have options: a smaller grid-tied system, a hybrid system with limited or no export, or a reminder from us if your local network is upgraded.

Will you call me after I check?

We save your name and mobile so a specialist can follow up on your result, and you can tell us not to call. Your bill is attached privately to your enquiry in our CRM so our team can prepare your quote. The website itself does not store it.
